The spraying method is applied to determine the resistance to wetting of the surface with water of any fabric that has or has not been given waterproof or water-repellent properties with the device.

A certain volume of distilled or completely deionized water is sprayed on an experimental part attached to a pulley and placed at a certain distance under the central spray nozzle and at an angle of 45° C.

The degree of wetting is determined by comparing the appearance of the experimental part with defined standards and photos.
